My name is Jean Ilderton. I created this site for "Moonchild" ~ I put it on my server, created every page for it via Moonchild sending me email requests to add pages and graphics. They were numerous requests and I had built the site for her to a very large and beautiful site that she won many awards for.


I did this because I had come to know "Moonchild" through a group we belonged to called Heavens Angels. She wrote me and asked if I knew anyone that could build a site for a friend of hers named Lin who's adult daughter had gone missing in the UK in 1995. I responded back that I would happy to do that for Lin and put it on my server.


In July 2004, I got the website up for Lin ~ who by the way is a lovely person who indeed does have a daughter missing and Lin herself a cancer patient. Moonchild had put us in touch via email so that I could work with Lin on what she would like on the site for her daughter Helen


After Lin's site was up and I made a few additional pages for it, I started getting emails from Moonchild saying how wonderful it was that Lin didn't have to pay 'the exorbitant' fees that she (Moonchild) had to pay for her site. After having made mention of this several times, and during a period of time when Moonchild was supposedly very ill and had no will to live (according to her daughter Anka), I asked just how much Moonchild had to pay for her website and was told $1800 USD a year. I considered that robbery at best... and of course, in turn offered to create a website for Moonchild (free of charge) and host it on my server, maintain it etc.......


I must say now looking back on things that the con had begun. The only truthful thing Moonchild (or Anka) had told me was about Lin... but I had no idea... so I created this website, let Moonchild send me links to backgrounds to use and her writings to add and I spent countless hours between August 2004 and the end of Dec 2004 creating anything and everything she asked for.


By this point we, of course, had become 'dear friends, soul sisters, etc' ~ (terms I find out later she uses with most she comes in contact with on the internet).


Right after Christmas 2004, due to a link I put on my main website to this page, I received an email from someone informing me that Moonchild was a fraud ~ that I was only one among many that she had gotten to build websites for her out of kindness and that I should contact certain other people who could tell me who Moonchid, Gery Drahn, really was.


I would have probably ignored it because I just couldn't believe it, except that the person who emailed me about it was someone I knew and someone that I knew to be nothing but honest and a person that would watch out for me.


So I did my own investigation and what I found sickened me. By just running the name Gery Drahn in a google search I was able to find other websites and information. I realized that Gery, Moonchild...whatever she calls herself is a top notch scam artist... who befriends people on the internet and then feeds them stories of her having cancer (she doesn't), having been in a car accident that left her permanently disabled (I doubt it), that her husband Herman committed suicide due to her condition (but he didn't - he answered the phone when a US friend called her in the Netherlands long after she claimed he had committed suicide).


Here is the scam she runs ~ you become her 'friend' online and over the course of time (not long ususally) you will eventually be asked (by daughter Anka most often) to 'send' something to her mother Moonchild...or Moonchild herself will drop hints big enough to drive a truck through that she is in 'need' of certain things but unable to get them... so you are a kind person and you offer to get it for her and send it to her.....


Once your 'gift' arrives, she will in turn sell it online ~ we know for a fact she has sold many items through an online Dutch site that is very similar to Ebay here in the USA. We suspect she probably sells on Ebay but not using her real name.


There are countless victims of hers out there in cyberland. I've connected with many already in the past couple of weeks. She has been removed from the online groups RAOK, Heavens Angels, Garden of Friendship and Chemo Angels based on her fraud and predator behavior.

I have notified two other groups that I know she was in, Friends2Friends and Sisters with Heart. I don't know her status in those groups at this time but the owners of the groups were advised.

In the meantime, if you have contact with Gery Drahn who's online names so far are Moonchild, Butterfly, Papillon ~ be aware that you are dealing with someone who has no conscious and will attempt to relieve you of something ~ most probably your money in the form of 'gifts'.

I am only out my time in the creation of this website for her. Her other site that supposedly she paid $1800 a year for and was paid through Sept 2004 (she told me) is STILL up. You can find it here.


This woman took advantage of my friendship, my kindness and worst of all, made me think we were dear friends. BTW, she did a lot worse to our friend Lin. I contacted Lin in the UK by phone after finding out the truth and found out that she has been sending 'Gery' gifts (power bars only available in the UK that might help Gery 'eat') to the tune of well over $120 a month USD ~ not to mention all the other 'gifts' she sent her (food processor, dolls, etc). Lin is just a victim too ~ one of countless.


So beware if you think you are friends with Gery ~ she doesn't care one bit about you ~ only what you can send or do for her.


Thanks for taking the time to read this ~ and be safe out there. I confronted her by email and took the site down initially. I'm sure she's gone to ground for awhile but will reinvent herself to prey on others.


I decided I am going to leave this one page up for any poor soul who might come to it via a link and not know the truth.
